Partners HealthCare at Home - Private Care Earns Re-Accreditation from Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts
"Achieving re-accreditation from the Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts demonstrates Partners Health Care at Home – Private Care’s commitment to quality of service, safety and exceptional care," said Arthur St. Germain, vice president, Private Care, Partners HealthCare at Home. "We understand how important it is to feel comfortable with the caregivers you invite into your home and by maintaining our accreditation we reaffirm our dedication to quality care and ethical business practices."
Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts, which represents 190 home health and elder care agencies across Massachusetts, created an accreditation protocol to promote quality services, ethical business standards and superior employment practices in an industry that lacks meaningful licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts even while it grows in popularity. This accreditation program for private pay agencies (agencies that are not paid by Medicare or Medicaid) launched in July 2010. Since that time, more than 60 agencies have submitted documentation to show that they meet the standards established by the alliance.
The accreditation program includes fifteen standards relating to: client rights, privacy, and complaint procedures; protections against abuse; fair employment practices; caregiver background screening; competency, training and supervision; insurance coverage; and compliance with all applicable federal, state & local laws.
